This and that
Just a few random goings-on…
Stash Busting
I spent a looong evening yesterday posting some of my craft stash on eBay. I have at least one more batch of items to post today or tomorrow, also. Why does this process always take so much longer than I expect it to? It’s annoying, but also worth it.
So far, I’ve got some kitchen cotton yarn, a little bit of pretty multi-colored mercerized cotton, and a nice lot of discontinued Rowan Donegal Lambswool. Also, some One Stroke painting gear from a hobby that just never happened. Wanna see?
Yoga Mat Bags
I dug out a path through the craft room to my sewing machine the other day and whipped up a yoga mat bag. I’m planning to make a couple more for my mom and sister, too. Our first pilates class is next Monday, so I’ll be finishing the rest of the matching bags soon. Pictures to come!
Strange Kitties
Something was up with the feline members of our household this morning. After Kate had already left for work, I was still dozing in bed when I heard a very loud scamper, scamper, crash, shuffle, scamper…. coming from the living room and traveling throughout the house. Hmm.
Well, that was the motivation I needed to finally get up. My first priority was finding what made the crash noise. A quick scan of the living room revealed a toppled candle holder from the table next to the front door. Nothing broken, so that’s good. In the middle of the living room, I spotted a paper Starbucks bag (my lunch bag from the day before) — make that 2/3 of a Starbucks bag. What the?
One of the likely suspects, Mr. Squally (affectionately known around the house as “Bad Cat”) was found in the basement, but the other suspect, Miss Bridget, was no where in sight. Squally proceeded to follow me around the house as I called for her, rubbing against my legs in an uncharacteristically friendly way and pretending to help me search. I called her several times as I proceeded to get ready for work, but it wasn’t until I was starting to get really worried that she casually reappeared about half an hour later. I have no idea where she was hiding. She’s not normally the shy type.
So, the morning ruckus remains somewhat of a mystery. I never did find the rest of that Starbucks bag. Maybe one of them got tangled up in the handles and freaked? Who knows. The thought in the back of my mind was that another bird had somehow gotten in the house again. Let’s hope that I don’t come home to a real disaster scene later today.
