I went to visit Jeni yesterday. She’s expecting the arrival of her new bambino Noah very soon — so exciting! I can’t wait to meet him, but I must confess that I’m hoping he’ll wait until AFTER his baby shower next weekend.

Visiting Jeni means I also got to spend time with her cutie pie daughter Miriam. She’s about 19 months old and has the best red curly hair I’ve ever seen. My own niece persists in being afraid of me for some reason, but Miriam and I are pals — which is always reassuring. On this visit, we read books and slid various toys down her little slide. But the best part… she said my name (Dena) and cried when I had to leave. How loved do I feel now?!
