This is my take on the Coronet pattern from Knitty. I thought it was a really fun project that comes out looking very pretty. However, there was one part of the instructions that baffled me where the directions say to pick up stitches around the cabled band with the wrong side facing. That seemed backwards, so I worked it my own way, and I’m happy with the results.

It wasn’t until I was linking over to the pattern just now that a phrase from the intro description caught my eye: “The turned-up brim makes this hat extra warm over the ears.” Ahhhh… turned up brim. That explains it. Oh, well. Maybe next time.
