The Elusive 8 Inches
Here are my first two squares for the aghanalong. Nothing fancy here, but they look pretty cute, right?
The problem is that they’re supposed to be 8 inches square. The first one (I call her Miss Skimpy) weighs in at a mere 7 inches square… despite my best intentions. The next one (Miss Pudgie), knitted on the bias as suggested by Kay, somehow grew to a whopping 9 inches square. In both cases I did make attempts to measure as I went along, but alas.
So, I very sheepishly mailed these two off to New York. Maybe they’ll find some other misshapen squares to play with. Meanwhile, the quest for the elusive 8-inch square continues!

Hey! When I finally finished my “good” square after two other failures, and asked for Kay’s address, she told me I shouldn’t have ripped my bad ones. I guess they’re getting squares in all kinds of shapes, so don’t feel bad! They’ll get used.
How was knitting on the bias? I’ve never done it.
The Skimpy square is a pretty color, at least on my monitor.

Hi Muffin, yep those little squares are quite cute. Even the odd ones belong somewhere.
Kiss kiss. It’s nice to be able to lay in bed with you and Sadie and post to your blog at the same time.
xoxo, Kate

My squares came in different sizes too and I really felt bad about sending them off. But I did!
