The new Knitty is up! At first glance, the most tempting patterns for me are the Aibhlinn cowl, Belle Epoch tea-gown inspired sweater, and the Leftovers vest.

I’ve been eyeing several cowl patterns lately, so that one’s no surprise. And I loved the recent Regency House Party series on PBS — so it’s no wonder that the Belle Epoch design would strike my fancy. But I am surprised at how much I like the vest pattern because I’m not really a vest person. I think the key is that the shoulders are nicely tapered. The sweater vests that I remember from high school always had these boxy shoulders that ended up making you look like, well, a box. (Note to self: If you’re seriously considering making a vest, remember to also check out the vest pattern in the Cornelia Tuttle Hamilton Book #2.)
