Finished Objects
I’ve been slacking off on my posts so much that I actually have TWO finished objects to report.
Drum roll…. after several months of seemingly endless quantities of pink Cascade 220 wool yarn, it’s… the completed First Blush Sweater! Hurrah!
I’ll snap a picture of me modeling it sometime, but I just couldn’t bear the thought of pulling on a thick wool sweater right now. I have to admit that it’s not the most figure-flattering of designs, but it’s finished and I’m pretty proud of it. I like how the stripes came out.
Thanks to all of the great encouragement and tips you all gave me (thank you, Heidi for mailing me those pages about picking up stitches!), my second attempt at the neckline whent much, much better. I ended up picking up a few extra stitches, and everything came together just fine this time around.
And for my next trick… it’s an Anny Blatt scarf for Mom’s birthday!
Wow, was this ever so much fun! I ordered the kit from customyarns.com. Lots of pretty color combinations to choose from. It’s a ball of thin ribbon yarn held together with a matching ball of angora. You knit with big ol’ size 15 needles, and the pattern is very quick. It took me probably about 2 hours spread over the course of a day to make this, plus 10 or 15 minutes to attach the fringe (if you’re obsessive about making each side exactly even, like I am). I really love it and will definitely want to make one of these again.

Congrats on finishing not one but two projects! I’m jealous, need to finish something. They look great.

Hey the neck turned out great! And so did the whole sweater. I hate to say it, but I hope you get one more cool day so you can at least wear it before it has to be stored for the summer…

Nice work! I especially like the muted, dusty colored stripes in the sleeves. I’ll take a picture of you in it for your blog.
