eBay Score!

I’ve been longing to start knitting a Klaralund of my own, but I can’t really justify the yarn purchase at the moment. I’ve got a few other projects in progress and on deck… but I’ve been watching out for a good deal on Noro Silk Garden on eBay. Alas, I’m not really sure what color I want, and I haven’t seen any large lots on eBay for a significant discount. So. Klara remains on the wish list for a while longer.

Then, last week, it occurred to me to check eBay for possible deals on another of my wish list items — Peace Fleece for an Everyday Cardigan. Score! This time I found 6 skeins (prewound no less) in a lovely shade of Volgasippi Blue for about 2/3 the usual cost. Yippee! And here it is:

The yarn is very sheepy and noticeably dirty (in a nice sort of way) with even little bits of straw here and there. The color is really beautiful and complex with little flecks of lilac and slight variations in the color blue. I knitted up a swatch so that I could see how the fabric washes up. Softens right up and relaxes just enough to make it even more lovely. Now I’m just waiting for the pattern to arrive in the mail and I’ll be good to go!

Hi Jena! I just came over to check in because I haven’t been by in a while. And while I was reading the posts I thought, it’s been about a year and look how far she’s come as a knitter! The Stevie cables look great. Then I looked at your Archives list and it really has been a year.

I just got some of that Peace Fleece too, in a darker blue. Mine wasn’t too sheepy or filled with bits, though I had expected it to be. I think it will be fun to knit with–I’m making my husband a sweater eventually.

Best wishes for another year of knitting progress and blogging! Don’t let the Sims distract you too much :)
