Cables and Tiles
This weekend was a fun adventure into two new skills: knitting cables and hanging ceramic tile. One of these has left me with an aching back — but I think it was worth it.
First, the cables. After many weeks of swatching, thinking, and slllooowwly working on one of the sleeves, I finally took the plunge and started in on the back of Kate’s sweater. There are a couple of wonky bits here and there, but I’m getting the hang of it. (I’ll try to get a better picture that shows the cabling pattern next time.)
The tile walls in the bathroom still need to be grouted… and there are more things to do, like painting, installing the rest of the plumbing hardware, etc. But I’m so dang proud of the tiling work that Kate and I pulled off this weekend (AND our awesome new glass block window!), that I can’t wait to post a progress picture:
And finally, here’s a little bit of pretty from the backyard: big white moon flowers in bloom at dusk.

Stevie looks great! I can’t wait to start, but I’m not sure if I have the right size needles yet.
The bathroom looks very nice so far (I love/hate home improvements!) and your flowers are gorgeous!!!
